which otherwise would be dissipated.
Biomass is gasified using a pyrolytic reactor, where high temperatures and low oxygen supply leads to the extraction of a combustible gas called Syngas. Syngas burning thus heat up an external combustion Stirling engine through which heat is converted into electrical energy. Thermal energy is recovered from both Stirling engine and combustion exhaust gas. Both electrical and thermal energy can be stored to increase flexibility and to make available a peak power greater that nominal micro-CHP.
